Before moving to Utrecht, I grew up in a small town in western Canada, surrounded by many languages and yes, snowy mountains! As I attended a bilingual school, I was exposed to English and French, as well as Dutch which was spoken at home within my family.
Having exposure to this many languages at an early age sparked my interest in different cultures and their interactions. Later, I started learning Spanish, a language that opened many more doors for me. Immediately after high school, I took a sabbatical year to do volunteer work in the south of Spain, where I learned Spanish intensively. This amazing experience prompted me to apply for my chosen bachelor, Spanish Language and culture.
Currently I am heading into my third year at the University of Utrecht and on the days that I’m not wrapped up in writing Spanish essays or reading Spanish articles, I enjoy helping children learn new languages, in the form of a tutor. Whether its tutoring or translating pieces of writing from one language into another, I love being in the company of other languages.
Looking for a tutor? Or a multi-language speaking au-pair? Or someone to translate a paper from Spanish into English? Let me know and I would be happy to help you!
